[Updated Every
Wednesday Afternoon]
Update heard
they are starting a new series at the Beach Campus this
Sunday, “Boy Band Fever.” This series might bring up bitter
feelings with our Forefront bands, because they all really
wanted to be in a boy band, but that career path didn’t work
out, so now they are forced to play rockin’ worship music
instead. Oh, they’ll probably deny it if you ask them about
it, but it’s true. Rumor has it Joe has a secret room in his
office that holds a shrine to the New Kids On The Block. And
if you look at some of the guys’ tattoos really closely, you
can see the faces of all the Backstreet Boys. Well, maybe one
day they will achieve their life-long dream! In the meantime,
check out all the cool stuff happening at Forefront:

Forefront wouldn’t happen without volunteers, and each week we
take a minute to highlight someone who is doing an outstanding
job. This week we’d like to thank
Melinda Marshall,
who helps us out in a few different areas around Forefront.
Melinda does a lot of behind-the-scenes things that no one
really knows about, but are super important. She works on our
programs every week and is responsible for plugging new
information in them and keeping them up to date. She also
serves in our Children’s Ministry, where she helps with
curriculum and teaching in the 4 & 5-year- old’s classroom.
She does an awesome job wherever she works, and we appreciate
all her efforts. Melinda, thanks so much for your commitment
and great attitude about serving! You’re the best!

Baltimore
or Bust!
Looking for a cool chance to get away for a weekend and turn
the world upside-down while you're at it? We've got a team
heading to Baltimore, MD from
August 1-3
to visit Mosaic, a new church being planted by Carl Kuhl, a
former Forefront staff member. We're going to partner with
Mosaic to assist Samaritan Women, a ministry that reaches out
to hurting women in the Baltimore area. They've purchased a
house that needs to be transformed into a transition home for
needy women, and this is where you come in! If you can hold a
hammer, plant a seed, throw away trash, etc., you're more than
qualified to help! And as an added bonus, on the way back from
our trip, we'll stop off in DC for a little sight-seeing! Sign
up at the Hub Table if you're interested. For more info,
please
email
Bob Nery.
Don't
Forget the S'mores!
Hey
parents, are any of your kids rising 4th, 5th or 6th graders?
Looking for a way to keep them from lapsing into a couch
potato coma this summer? Well, we can help. Sign them up for
Camp Rudolph for a week of crazy adventure! It's happening
June 22-27,
and if you register by May 15 you'll get a discount! For more
info, pick up a card at the Children's Ministry table in the
lobby, or
email
Becky
Bruner.
We’re
Partnering with PIN!
Have you been sitting around thinking, “Man, my third Sundays
of the month are so boring! I need something to do!” (Oh, just
play along and say yes!) Well, here’s your chance to get out
and do something life-changing! Beginning
May 18,
the third Sunday of every month will be PIN week at Forefront.
This will be a chance for Forefronters to come out from
3-6 p.m.
to help the
People In Need Ministry
serve dinner to the needy and homeless of Virginia Beach. The
schedule will include helping with set-up, serving food,
hanging out for a worship service, then cleaning up. This is
an awesome opportunity to show God’s love in a practical way!
Stop by the Hub Table to sign up.
All the
Cool Kids Are Going
Is
your teenager bored with church? They need to check out our
Student Ministry! We offer lots of cool opportunities for
6th-12th graders to get involved, make new friends, and learn
about God. We have Gel Groups for both Middle and High School
students throughout the week, a cool bi-weekly service called
Cardia, and lots of special events during the year. We also
offer Tranzt, a unique gathering just for Middle School
students that happens every Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
Questions about any of these events?
Email
James Davis, or call him at 468-1188.

what we're doing. It’s updated daily, so you can get a little
taste of Forefront fresh every morning! So go check it out at
www.forefrontblog.org.
It’s blogtastic! Bloggerriffic! Chock full of bloggy goodness!
